Subject: APPEAL FOR DONATION My dear Ravian, It is a matter of great honor for me to address you through this letter just after assuming the office of the Vice Chancellor of the GC University Lahore on 25-07-2011. I hope that you will be remembering your good old days in Government College. This Institution continues to be not only one of the top educational institutions in the country but also the oldest in its 147th year. Such luminaries like Dr. Muhammad lqbal, Faiz Ahmad Faiz and Nobel Laureates, Dr. Abdus Salam and Dr. H. Khorana and many more have been associated with this prestigious Institution which is a matter of honour for all of us. Due to its consistent distinct performance, the University status was granted to it in 2002. A series of measures have since been taken to diversify its subjects to include Computer Science, Management Science, Industrial Biotechnology, Entrepreneurship and SMEs Management, Clinical Psychology, etc. along with M. Phil. & Ph.D. in different subjects besides widely improving its academic, financial and administrative discipline. In 2011, the number of students are about 7600 with 68 disciplines and teaching faculty of 415 including 141 PhDs. The University is presently facing a big challenge in view of the current financial constraints which have seriously effected the national economy. Our major sources of funds are Federal and Provincial Governments. A number of new projects have been planned and work on them cannot be initiated unless funds are available. Besides, we have to provide financial aid to our deserving students and funding to our scholars studying abroad. In view of above, I shall be highly obliged if you could kindly contribute to the development of your own alma mater in an appropriate manner such as
